Raccoon playfully peeks out of a log to look at the viewer. A pond with a tree-lined shore is behind it. This watercolor pencil drawing is the 23rd piece in the totem animal project, and the 11th image in the mammal series. Raccoons are symbols of connecting to trees, curiosity, exploration, eating raw, masks, night vision, and secrets.
The original was created in 2018. It is 16″ x 20″ on 18″ x 24″ paper and in a 22″ x 26″ frame. It took approximately 11.5 hours to complete. I used General’s Kimberly watercolor pencils on Canson watercolor paper, and then painted over it with water. It has a spray varnish finish. It includes Certificate of Authenticity and usually ships in 1 to 5 business days directly from The Unfolding Butterfly.
